In April 2025 the government's IndiaAI Mission selected Sarvam AI to build the country's sovereign large language model - trained end-to-end on Indian infrastructure and built for 22 Indian languages.
The decision: a national model should run on national data, not be rented from abroad.
Sarvam is the intelligence layer, built in India for India.
