Invisible Giant

In Bangladesh, wages come home in minutes.

For millions, a paycheck used to take days to reach home.

For millions, a paycheck used to take days to reach home.

In Bangladesh, a country that was largely branchless a decade ago, more than eighty million people now move money on bKash, through more than 350,000 agents who reach villages no bank ever entered. A worker in Dhaka can send her wages home the same afternoon, no bank account required.

When the rail reaches the last village, distance stops taxing the poor.
